Privacy Policy
This policy describes what data Cytosphere ("the app", "we", "us") collects, how we use it, and what choices you have. It applies to the Cytosphere app for iPhone, iPad, and Mac, and to this website.
Short version
We collect nothing. No accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no personal data, no cross-app tracking. Every wallpaper render happens entirely on your device. The app makes no outbound network connections.
What we collect
Nothing. Cytosphere runs entirely on-device. There is no backend, no analytics service, no crash reporter, no usage telemetry. Once installed, the app does not send any data off your device under any circumstance.
What we do NOT collect
- Your name, email, Apple ID, or any other identifier.
- Your IP address.
- Your photos, library contents, or any content you create with the app.
- Your location.
- Your contacts, calendars, or any other system data.
- Your browsing behavior, in or outside the app.
- Your device identifier, advertising identifier, or hardware information.
- Anonymous or aggregate usage data of any kind — even pattern selection counts.
Permissions the app may ask for
Photo library (iOS / iPadOS)
When you export a wallpaper on iPhone or iPad, the app asks for permission to add images to your Photos library (the "add-only" permission, not full library read). The exported wallpaper is saved directly to Photos. We never read photos from your library and never transmit them anywhere. If you deny the permission, the export feature is the only thing affected — everything else still works.
Background processing (iOS / iPadOS)
For exports at the highest resolutions (10K and 16K), the app briefly requests background-task time so the render can finish if you switch apps mid-export. This is a system-level capability that lets the CPU keep working in the background — no data leaves your device.
Payments and in-app purchases
The "Unlock All Patterns" in-app purchase is handled entirely by Apple's App Store. Apple processes your payment, manages the receipt, and tells the app whether you own the unlock. We do not see your name, email, payment information, or location. Apple shares with us only aggregate anonymized sales counts via App Store Connect dashboards — never personally identifiable information.
What the app does over the network
Nothing. The app does not connect to any server, ours or third-party, during normal use. The only network activity related to the app happens through Apple's frameworks — for example, when the App Store verifies your in-app purchase entitlement — and is handled by iOS / macOS itself, not by code we wrote.
Children
Cytosphere is rated 4+ and contains no objectionable content. Because we collect no data, there is nothing children's data to protect or delete — for children or anyone else.
Data retention and deletion
Because we hold no data about you, there is no per-user data to retain or delete. Deleting the app removes all local presets, saved configurations, and the cached purchase state from your device. The in-app-purchase entitlement remains with your Apple ID and can be restored at any time via Cytosphere → About → Restore Purchases.
Changes to this policy
If we ever start collecting data, we will update this page, bump the "Last updated" date, and announce the change in the app's release notes before any new collection begins. The current commitment is: zero data collection, indefinitely.
